PanameraAfter a long and excited wait, we finally received our first two Panameras yesterday at our dealership.

This was the first chance I had to actually see one in person. Let me tell you, I was very pleasantly surprised. Most of the pictures I had seen online made the car look big, almost Cayenne big. In person the car has an entirely different feel. It's low and sleek and not nearly as long as the pictures make it out to be. The Panamera really is a slick looking GT.

After seeing how low and sleek the car looked from the outside I did get a little worried. If the pictures on the internet had made the outside look so large, would that mean that the interior was not as voluminous as the images portrayed? Thankfully the answer was no. The engineers at Porsche seemed to have been able to defy all laws of physics and make the interior feel absolutely huge! As to be expected, driver and passenger have plenty of leg and head room. The real shocker was the room allowed for back seat passengers. I should mention, before we go any farther, that your humble reviewer is six foot four inches tall. Even with its sloping roofline, I had plenty of headroom. Not only that, I had real legroom, even with the front seat slid back. This makes the Panemara a practical family car(be it an extremely fast agile and good looking one).

Ergonomics in the cabin were very nice. With all dials and controls logically placed. The rear passengers get their own center console, a real bonus on long thrill rides cross country. Everything feels to be in its place.

As far as drivng dynamics go, its a genuine Porsche. It might not be the slalom monster that a 911 is but its a real performance car, leagues beyond every other GT I've ever had the pleasure of driving.  Its fast, very fast. It handles curves and quick direction changes with grace and grip, and the now famous seven speed Porsche PDK transmission works its magic yet again.

All in all if your looking for a true sports car that also meets the daily demands of real life you really can't beat the Porsche Panamera.
